The Colorado State Rams are pleased to announce that Beaumont Chiefs (CJHL) defenseman Trevor Van
Bavel has committed to join the team for the 2010/11 ACHA DII season.
Van Bavel recently completed his junior hockey career with Beaumont and served as the team’s Captain
for the 2009/10 season. The 6’1” 215 lb native of Beaumont, Alberta, was voted Chief’s Top
Defenseman last year. Trevor was also selected as a CJHL First Team All-Star, and helped lead the Chiefs
to the Alberta Junior B League Championship title.
“We are very excited to have a player of Trevor’s caliber joining us here at CSU”, said Rams Head Coach
Kelly Newton. “The experience and leadership he will bring with him will greatly benefit our program, I
fully expect Trevor to be an impact player for us this coming season.”
When asked about his decision to attend CSU, Van Bavel stated “I am excited to come to CSU to join the
hockey program, and help the Rams win a National Championship”.
