Capital Junior Hockey League 2016/17 Awards

Tyler Hagel of the Morinville Jets has been selected at the Capital Junior Hockey League’s Most Valuable Player for the 2016/17 Season.  Tyler led the League in scoring with 47 Goals, 28 Assists and 75 Points.

The Rookie of the Year was captured by Ty Noyes of the Spruce Grove Regals.  Ty led the League in Rookie Scoring with 27 Goals and 23 Assists.

Michael Saito of the Spruce Grove Regals was selected as the Most Sportsmanlike Player.  In 38 Games Michael scored 19 Goals along with 25 Assists and incurred 8 Penalty Minutes.

Trent Brown of the Morinville Jets was selected Coach of the Year by his fellow Coaches in the Capital Junior Hockey League.

Selected to the First All Star Team were Tyler Hagel, Morinville Jets; Doug Morris, Beaumont Chiefs; Mikey Mantello, North Edmonton Red Wings; Ben Fonteyne, Wetaskiwin Icemen; Mason Younger, Fort Saskatchewan Hawks and Devin Reagan, Wetaskiwin Icemen.

Selected to the Second All Star Team were Brett Dubuc, Morinville Jets; Derek McWhinnie, Edmonton Royals; Luc Goudreau, Beaumont Chiefs; Ty Lindberg, Stony Plain Flyers; Jorden Rooke, Morinville Jets and Chase Mudryk, Beverly Warriors.
